Aussie Acans do best under moderate lighting provided by high output flourescents such as T5’s or power compacts. They can be kept under metal halides, but should be kept lower in the aquarium. Acans do best with moderate water flow. Acans will not sting each other and can be kept close to most types of zoanthids. Their tentacles do not extend over 1″ so they are not usually a threat to other corals in the aquarium. They are subseptible to the sting of other corals so be careful when placing them near corals with sweeper tentacles, such as Hammer Coral, Torch Coral, or Echinophyllia. Feeding can be stimulated by the addition of liquid invertebrate foods, and the ideal prey size is between 100 microns and 1/8 cm.
