Light rails are a great way to save electricity and simulate a more natural environment for your corals. We have one on our 6 foot long frag tank with a single 250 watt MH light and growth is outstanding. For the large reef, supplement this with T5 or VHO lighting and you will simulate clouds drifting about shading some areas while lighting others. In addition to this beneficial effect of having a natural momentary blast of light you will save huge on electricity and the associated and unavoidable expenses of having numerous MH Lights such as cooling, bulb replacement, initial ballast and reflector purchase.
